jamaican appleton rum is better than barbados mountgay rum..........yo ho ho

Funnily enough one one of my last ever blow-outs before giving up the evil drink, I had a bottle of Appleton Rum. With ginger ale. Then some wine. Then some more wine. I remember starting a 2nd bottle of Appleton but not what happened next.

Appleton was the prince of rums though. Nice colour too.

Appleton is a Jamaican single-estate rum.

It's summat to do with the copper stills they make it in

It is luvverly tho

It's got that bannana-ey, caramely taste.

Plus - you get a head on it - which is always good value.

2 shotglasses of good rum

1 shotglass of lime cordial (or lime juice and sugar-syrup if you can be bothered being all poncey and precious about it )

2 slices of lime

Water to taste - To the top of a whisky glass if you want summat punchy and aggressive... to the top of a tall tumbler if you want a long sipping drink for the Sunday papers

Good for (almost) anything that ails ya
