OK...
Died like a louse in a Russian's beard that last sub-thread
Twofers... let's go
Twofer (n) (neologism; mus) A musical item recently popular (about 9 minutes ago) onAA Therapy Group football message boards involving the pairing up of tracks which, though well-matched in terms of "groove" (ibid) and "vibe" (ribbit) may be pleasingly disparate in jong-ruh (cf "genre")

I saw this lopt in Heathrow airport one time.
They were en route to Newcastle for that night's gig.
I was on my way to Jersey to look for work.
They looked fukkin fantastic
I never spoke to em tho
Triffic track - B-side of "Sexy and 17" which is pyshe, frankly.

Male hubris ruthlessly dissected.
Lovely wee build in the bridge as a bonus.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
I remember listening to this album in The Rock Garden on a Wednesday night in 1981
We were on our way to see The Cure at Tiffannys
(They were gash )
But with the watery sunlight flooding the room, the cold beer clutched in the mitt and the FA Cup final replay (Spurs vs Man City) playing with the sound down on the wee telly above the bar...
It felt like the best multi-sensual experience (sight, taste and sound) I would ever have in my life
I was nineteen
I'll be 47 in 5 days' time and here I am posting about it on a messageboard
God
That's depressing
(Cracking album tho )

I remember finding the original of this song for a colleague one time
Seems like a hundred years ago now
For the divine Mrs P - wherever she is
Jock rock - and the beat gangs on... fit like min... furry boots... crivvens.... ben the press etc etc...

Embra.
Not far from Glesca....
...not far enough
"They say that there's a thousand like you... Maybe that's true - I fell for you and nobody else
So I'm standing here so lonesome. What can i do - but learn to laugh at myself"
"I'll be your consolation prize although... I know... I'll never be man enough for you"

Fawkirk
Not quite the anus of Scotland...
It's a bit further up than that
The first band I was ever in used to share a rehearsal room with Robin & Liz in lower Newmarket Street
We always knew if they'd been in before us cos the floor was littered with ice-cream tubs from the Boulevard Cafe downstairs.
I dunno if that's at all relevant
"Now my foolish boat is leaking, broken love-lorn on your rocks"

Y'know
I'm sure I had something much more profound than that to contribute at this point...
...but I'm fukked if I can recall what it was

If you don't have Exile on Mainstreet I urge you to stop what you're doing immediately and go and buy it. Words can't describe how good it is ...... or you can say please

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
I had a busy day.
I had to drop guns off at Jimmy's... to match some silencers he had.
I had to pick up my brother at the hospital and pick up some stuff for Lois.
(Betcha only Plissken and Quinny get the link between that quote and the following track )
Goes on a bit mind... you prolly heard all ya need to by about the third minute.

Incidentally...
And in ref to Jimmy's Stones post....
How comes nobody's ever mashed-up the Nilsson track in the last post with this un???
Sticky Fingers...
Like Exile....
... except as a killer single album rather than a self-indulgent double
