Alabama 3 in glasgow tonight

Not a bad show, a bit curate's egg like. Not helped by a muddy sound mix and a rather silly decision to stick a piper onstage before coming back for an encore. A fair number of people, including your reviewer, left the premises at that point. If there's one thing worse than the Tartan Army singing some of their pish about coming down the road or that other pish Doh a Fukkin Deer, it's a fukkin piper at a rock gig, ...

Anyway, all that was compensated for by a raucous version of Mao Tse Tung Said and an excellently lumbering version of the song they're best known for, Woke Up this Morning.

A good show for Sopranos fans....and also for leering at their female backing singer who wore the tightest of shorts and spent a lot of time showing off her very nice arse. Those pics, ahem, are for the private collection

O2 Academy, Ono.

From this year's gigs I'd say the ABC is the best venue in Glasgow these days. Good atmosphere and excellent sound.

I haven't been there, I like the academy. Have to say there's something special about the Arches too.

Arches is nice but sometimes the sound can be iffy.

Get yerself to the ABC Ono, you'll love it.
