First ever music thread post - remember?
Sounds better every time I hear it immo, the way it builds up is fantastic. It's a pity the Verve didn't learn from it when they wrote History, it built up, built up, then built up some more ........ then fuckin finished
Here's a cracker from Interpol, they show how to build up a song and deliver the killer riff
This is a shorter version though

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
A combination of man-flu-inspired lethargy, a temporary fracture in the narrative and a whole loada pish you don't even wanna know about leads me back to the music thread
(That and that bottle of rum that was kicking up such a racket in the kitchen cabinet obviously )
How aposite

I sold this single to Stephen Pastel in The Other Record Shop once.
It was my first proper encounter with a pop star.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
FACT!
I just realised - the guy who introduces this clip (not Shatner) was the drummer in the first ever group I made it onstage with.
D.D.T. - Live at The Slamannan Community Centre!!!
I was playing bass and wearing a home-made T-shirt
Toots was in the audience and wearing too much eye-liner
Craig Ferguson was shite on the drums
Mind.... - we only met him on the morning of the gig
Plus... As if that weren't enough
The bass-players cousin had fish pie and pannetone bread and butter puddin at our bit on Saturday there.
Immo & Toots - Just like the Luntzes - but from Slamannan
I still reckon this is their best

"If you can draw out A on the music thread.... then all yer efforts aint bin in vain and for nuthin"
That's what I always say.
Actually - that's a bit hyperbollox
I said it for the first time just then actually
"A splendid musical time guaranteed for all as always"
Is what I meant to say

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Course - ideally... you'd want a perfect mix of standard V and Rokeby V but such a creature could surely never exist.
Why it would be like imagining a choon so pleasingly chewy and squelchy in arrangement, yet so emotionally and chest-burstingly frank in the expression of its lyric, that you'd be eternally grateful to the people responsible for introducing it to you and thereby improving you intermittently dull existence.
Crown...
James....
I'm preparing myself to forgive you
A fukkin peach chaps
Frankly - I think i've done pretty fukkin well to have resisted posting a loada self-indulgent shite on the music thread up to this point Yay me!!
Still - it was never gonna last now was it
Nytol
His name was always "Buddy" and he'd shrug and ask to stay
And she'd "sigh" like Twig the wonder kid and turn her face away
She's uncertain if she likes him
But she knows she really loves him
It's a crash course for the ravers
It's a "drive-in Saturday"
