Sunday Dinner... Empty Sunday Dinner...

Post by Immo Mon May 04, 2009 3:57 am

...when there's no work tomorrow tends to get a bit expansive...

The chicken's out of the oven at twenty to six, by which time Toots will have had chilled broad bean soup with crispy bacon croutons and I'll have scoffed a load of the new asparagus with a bitta cold hollandaise on the side (Toots doesn't like asparagus scratch never been able to work it out)

The bird will be served with new Jersey Royals with chive butter, caramelised courgette, roasted carrots with lemon, garlic and thyme and spinach.

By which time the first of the bottles of red will have bitten the dust and a new one will hafta be opened. Cheers

Observer, Sunday Herald, Sunday Express general knowledge crossword....

More wine Cheers

By which time we will be ready to finish up with baked rhubarb and cream for me (Toots really doesn't like rhubarb - she maintains that it's status as a foodstuff is "a fucking disgrace") and a Gu choccy pud for Toots.

By which time I'll be strangely drawn to the port bottle and the authentic Eye-talian gorgonzola. Cheers Very Happy

I'll prolly be on later Twisted Evil

About one in the morning probably Laughing

Didn't even reach the pud course Very Happy

Big Ginge and his lovely pagan, painterly partner Karen came round after the main and things took their natcherral course.

If there's a better thing to do with a Bank Holiday Sunday night apart from spliffing and drinking it up with a couple of mates as keen as you are to shoot the shit about the glittering inconsequentialities of life on the ole blue marble... I've yet to discover it.

Got me tapped into a classic (farty/male) rock vibe an'all

Just as a bonus Very Happy

(See music thread for results Smile )
