Re: A New Tunes Thread
Before the DEVO cover!!!!!!!!! I bought a Residents album, mostly for the cover, about 30 years ago, but they'd done this some years previous to that.

Jeez, I have their EP!
Better than Devo. And a million times better than the Clash, obviously.

My filtering process is v tortuous
If it's stone-cold , 24-carat newbies that sound triffic on the first listen and grow and grow and grow on ya till they get to feel like an itch you're never gonna be able to scratch that yer after...
You could do a lot worse than consider the (admittedly erratic) Crownybhoy recs.
I thought he'd never surpass Postal Service's - Such Great Heights
I was wrong
Immo is never afraid to show some love for me in a pleasant way. Mo on the other hand can only express his homo-erotic feelings for me in an aggressive way. I understand it's just frustration 'cause he has no chance with me, I'm straight for a start, but try a bit of niceness, politeness and some cycling related gifts mo. It's nice to be nice.

Re: A New Tunes Thread
Doesn't even need to be that new Immo. I just bought Seasick Steve (started out with nothing...) and LCD Soundsystem (sound of silver) which were both a fiver in Fopp. A bargain!

Haw! Just seen this bit. Surely you mean eclectic. Just you wait, not gonna send you those Barry Manilow tracks now. ....................................................Which I do actually have. No shame me!

Woooft!!!
That's the one with "North American Scum" on it innit?
I can barely wait for your next pee-emm Ono - you pulchitrudinous (and completely clean-shaven ) purveyor of anatomical advice and doctorly direction.
Have you heard Seasick Steve's cousin fae Cork?
You prolly have like - but this is a nice versh anyhow

Re: A New Tunes Thread
If I get idiot proof guide as to how to add the contents to a pm then I can happily send it to you immo. It's a great album tho.
Saw Calvin Harris tonight at Oran Mor, was pretty disappointing, but that'll keep for another day.
Nice choon by Steve's cousin too!

Re: A New Tunes Thread
Did I mensh that I don't have that Sound of Silver album?
I'm sure I did...
I'm almost certain there was a bit of shameless suck-uppery involving the words "unshaven" and "pulchritudinous"

Oh FFS
Lissen to me repeating myself

Re: A New Tunes Thread
I missed my man The Paperboy at Oran Mor a month or two back
Although I have been in for a sherbert a few times over the piece
Lovely venue
PS
Did I mensh that... (cont. p. 54)
PS
Staring at the Sun by Simple Kid is great too.
Plus... the recorded versh of both that and Average Man is far superior to anything currently available on youTube
Recorded versh is much more crunchy/samply/hip-hoppy

Re: A New Tunes Thread
Jeeez Ono
You can take that "dumb (unshaven) blonde" thing a bit too far y'know
See - now you're gettin patronised by a guy who prolly tucks his shirt-tails into his underpants and has more than one copy of "Jeremy Clarkson's Big Book of Powerful Cars for Men with Inadequate Knobbage" in his posession.
Tccch

Re: A New Tunes Thread
All over Radio 1 but that doesn't make it a bad song. It's not amazing but the chorus is kinda catchy.
