Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Fewer reposts than you'd think James
Although having said that, I reckon your legendary "Swansway - Soul Train" posts are bound to be edging their way up to double figures by now.
Pretty sure this is a debut...
The original and still the best - by a country mile

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
V nice indeed.
Mr Young is a kinda blind spot with me - one of those ones that you know you should like but sorta leaves you a bit cold. Liked that a lot tho.
On a side note...
I started the Simon Reynolds book already and discovered that Jerry Casale of Devo was part of the demo at Kent State Ohio and was a friend of one of the students that were killed by the national guard
Didn't know that....
I do now tho.
Knowledge is the bomb

And at the self-same university...
...three years before 'punk' has even been considered
I think Mr Gladstone may have a point about these guys

Don't look behind you James...
...but that music thread that you thought was miles long?
It'll be days before we get that little lot back... the wean was on the port & lemon earlier in the week so he'll be lying down in a darkened room somewhere with a Perrier water and a cassette of whale songs at the moment.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
This one goes surprisingly well with dusk, the smell of bladder-wrack and the keening cry of the oyster-catcher.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
And that's that with that
A farewell to the Isle(s) of Skye
This is an average fillum ...
...brilliant theme tho...
...and if it's runnin through your head as you're blearily partaking of your first fag of the day - at half-six in the am - watching the sun come up....
...it achieves its full potential
