Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Stevie the Script and I used to be in a band years ago.
He knew the perils of the P.P. comedown an'all
Dint happen every time mind
But when it did - S the S always had a wee mix tape to see us through to the small hours as we sat up staring at the crumbling wreck we called home at the time.
All of the following (and preevyuss) featured on said mix tapes.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
The mood would invariably be broken by Fat Baz (the drummer ) bursting into the front room and singing (hilariously ) "Ne me keech yer pants" along with this one (again )
(It was like catnip to the fat fucker - I swear I half expected him to burst through the door when i played it just now - nearly 30 years after the fact )
Stevie the Script and I would hurl toast crusts and empty coffee mugs at him until he stopped.
And then we'd retire.

Great stuff immo, and not a mention of a 25% pay cut, like certain members (and I use that word intentionally ) I could name check.

Another Sunday
Another dip of the toe into the murky waters of eclecticism
Jazz first
Y'know if you look up the word "duuuuuude!" in the OEd - there's a wee picture of Monk... prolly

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Billie H's last studio album was Lady in Satin
Produced and arranged by Ray Ellis.
I reckon it's the most affecting thing she ever recorded.
You can hear the smack and the heartbreak and the impending death oozing out of every note she sings.
Her voice aint the instrument it was on her classic sides with Pres and Teddy W...

Always end up back with the big man
Saw him at the Usher Hall and the Kings Theatre Embra round about this time (75/76) thanks to the good graces of my Uncle Panda
I felt blessed even at the time
