Re: A Stonking Music Thread
I got a blind spot for Mr Young too James
That's no bad tho.
This one always reminds me of Plisskers.
I see him rarely these days
Our last contact occurred on Tuesday evening.
After gettin dropped off at the end of our street by my lift I turned homewards.
On hearing the peep of a car horn I turned, to (I assumed) bid my driver farewell with a hearty wave of my hand.
Only to witness the unedifying sight of my dear bro-in-law leaning out of the passenger window of his eldest daughter's car, hands cupped around his gob shouting "GAWN YA SCRUFFY BASTUUURT!!" as he sped past me.
I responded with the time-honoured vicky-flickage of course

Fair do's tho
He does a fabulous "Delilah" when he reaches his optimum rummed-up-ness
He's never attempted this one.
Not without a hip-brace and a surgical support anyway

Re: A Stonking Music Thread
Does this count as a re-post if I put it on the 'Stonking' thread rather than the "Lost" thread?
Even if I make a tissue-thin link to the latest political shenanigans?

Re: A Stonking Music Thread
The best thing about this board is the wee nudge it gives to your internal cultural gyroscope from T to T.
Always good to get knocked off the trodden path.
Incidentally... my favourite word of the moment is derived from a town-planning thing which identifies 'paths of desire' (or summat like that) in housing schemes . It's basically those wee footpaths that you see gradually appear across grassy areas where there's no official footpath as such, but enough people have wandered that route to wear away the grass.
The term for those people is 'meanderthals'. Fabiluss!!
James - you (quite rightly ) shamed me into having another crack at Mr Young ...
....and all of a sudden punky-jangly wee gems like this start showin up on the ole YouTube trawl-list
I'm in yer debt man

Don't think I've ever said that James (I like After The Gold Rush), and if anyone wanted to send me an album, I'd happily give it a listen.
I'm obsessed with (nerdy) podcasts at the moment, not listened to any new music for ages.
1 Mobile Tech Addicts
There's an American guy on this British podcast who really knows his stuff, lives in Edinburgh too. The other panelists are more superficial.

RSS Podcast feed - http://mobiletechaddicts.libsyn.com/rss
Gaytunes feed - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=289081150
There's even a gayphone app you can buy for this show.
2 This Week In Tech
Leo Laporte is a podcast god. American based, but no worse for it. John C Dvorak (a regular panelist and he hosts cranky geeks http://www.crankygeeks.com/ and runs http://www.dvorak.org/blog/ etc, etc) is defo an American relation of mo, bad tempered old fucker.
http://twit.tv/twit
Leo produces loads more podcasts (all of which can be accessed from the above link. I listen to TWiG and Windows Weekly. There's also MacBreak Weekly for all you sad, fanboys.
Podcast links are all available if you search your podcast software, or from the TWiT site.
3 All About Symbian
Only for Nokia freaks really. Symbian really are fighting a losing battle at the moment, their OS is so powerful, yet so user unfriendly, Android and the gayphone blow it out the water.

Search for the feed in your podcast software.
Trying to find a good Android podcast, but not happy with any yet.
Was that boring and nerdy? Sorry gents.
