I'm a sucker for an ascending melody, and this chorus has one.

Reminds me of a tune, just can't put my finger on. Think it's a 70s one, female singer (in a band, not solo), lyrics go something like, "Oh no, have ever had it.......?"


I'm so ashamed, what course of treatment do prescribe?

Listened to it a coupla times but the only thing I recognised was a bit of a Keane song in there.

Faint whiff of 99 Luftbalon by tuneless Kraut skank Nena.... but that's about all I could find.

I'll subject it to a more rigorous analysis (I'll listen to it again )

As to your other complaint re liking bleeding-heart bedwetters Coldplay and having the poster of Chris and Gwyneth and all that...

The first Travis album is a great album to smoke to, or perhaps I just liked smoking to anything. Christ, must be five years since I had any dope. Drink and drugs are evil kids.

Proof positive that a liberal addition of sweetly pungent smoke improves any old bitta musical tat.

Even if it is Travis's very own brand of milk-drinkin, mouth-breathin, predictably anaemic, radio-friendly sludge.
