Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Saw The Pastels use this as a top-class conceptual gag at a gig in The Venue (Sauchiehall Street) once.
Kept us (the crowd) hangin around drinkin pishy, over-priced, watered-down lager for an hour-and-a-half before they deigned to appear.
Then they played the above as their intro music.
How we laffed.
How we pelted the fukk out of them with plastic beer tumblers
How we hollered...
"Away and get a proper job ya bowl-heidit wee fukk ye!!!"
Oh ha-ha...
very funny...
it is to laugh...
"Waiting... waiting... "
Deffo for A.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
"What is wrong in my life
That I must get drunk every night"
(my italics )
Quote's crass, track's class...
"I am sick and I am dull and I am plain.
How dearly I’d love to get carried away.
Oh, but dreams have a knack of just not coming true.
And time is against me now"

It starts out innocently with posting a few (bad) music videos in "dipso's corner", and before you know it, you're a washed up fucking idiot, pounding arses for your next bottle of vodka (2 bottles of 750ml Absolut for £18 at Asda James, bargain) like immo.
Drink is evil James, don't be taken in by immo's attempt to glamorise it, escape while you can.
La Vien Rose is fantastic, and I'm eternally grateful to you for introducing me to it, you're a true

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Very nice price for Absolute there Crown but seen as Tesco has an iron like grip of the supermarket trade in Inversneckie I'm still waiting on Asdas appeal on their planning application. The stores not going to be built by Crimbo
Manged to get a couple of litres of Smirnoff outta Tesco for £20 so they're not total cunts

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
We don't have an ASDA either James, but my mate dropped me round 2 bottles this after.
2 litres of Smirnoff for £20 is a bargain, nipped into Tesco today, but that offer is over.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Vodka is a drink fit only for homosexuals,
dead-eyed, plooky, mouth-breathers,
dazzlingly-delightful, desperately-dumb, bright young things
and jakeys who would drink anything with an a.b.v. ratio of 10% or over.
Whisky, strycchnine, gloss varnish and soda...
...that's a man's drink.
You die.
Obviously.
But you have a lovely finish.
Ay theng yow.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Mike Garson
Piano genius
David Bowie
Standard all-round, general-purpose kinda genius.
It was always going to be a potentially explosive alchemy
But who knew it would turn out this good
"She will be your living end..."
PS
V rare snaps of Bowie's ill-advised "Dambusters" encore after his 1975 Finsbury Astoria gig at 0.22

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
As were these
Dreamy
That Damon Albarn'd get it an'all given the right amount of drink consumed, a window of opportunity and a prevailing wind.
I'd even consider Alex James at a push
I don't care how metrosexual that sounds
"When the days they seem to fall through you well just... let them go"

Just always there; Blur.
Just beavering away (easy Sev)
Producing a lot of average dross over the course, but way more than their share of delicious pop-tastic wee nuggets too...

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Currently top of the Immo YouTube playlist
Don't be rollin your eyes like that at me
If you can find a track with a more transparent joy in the playing and a bounce in the melodic line....
...why - I'll call you for a liar and post something equally unspeakable

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Thing is... when you've just laid a ripe one in a crowded lift (metaphorically)
It's very bad form to follow it up with the ole booby-trap secondary malodorous arse-trumpet.
This is good tho - and if you don't think so...
well...
I just don't know what I'll do
I think it's Eddie Lockjaw Davis on tenor
I know it's Joe Pass on geetar
Y'all know who's singing
Genius
Seriously
