One of the most under-rated pop writers ever produced by these scabby wee windswept islands

(Only in this dumb cluck's opinion mind ;) )

TRIVIA FACTOID

The original 7" release of this (on the groovy green Harvest label - mmmmmm) bears a legend...

... and it reads...

"With thanks for inspiration to Neil Sedaka and Brian Wilson"

Kinda makes it even better dontcha think?

Huh?

Very Happy

Beach Boys are self-indulgent rubbish, what's wrong with you man?

"Good Vibrations" and "God Only Knows" buck this trend.

How can somebody be so right and then so wrong in such a short space? scratch

Eddie K absolutely fukkin nails that performance to the floor and shows up La Diva for the weak (though v affecting at times) singer she was.

Fukkin dreamy man. Cool

Brian Wilson is what God will look and sound like if (s)he turns out to exist.

That is all.

Bad news Sad ...

I'm on a rescue mission to bring over some of the tracks from the thread on the old board Shocked No No

I'm also quite drunk and it's fairly late drunken Sleep

I've also got to record some pianner stuff for a happy clappy christian "artiste" tomorrow Shocked

In Wishaw... :face:

Sober... pale Shocked pale

Good news...

This next was under-appreciated by you cunts the first time

It's still as wonderful and strangely more aposite now

Plus...

God is a figment of the collective imagination made necessary by the fact that we are the only species on the planet aware of the inevitability of our own mortality. The heady mix created by this indisputable fact; and the collective mania for circular, morally structured narratives, allows the "moth-eaten brocade" of religion to still hold the majority of the arse-scratching or fence-sitting public in thrall whilst allowing the rest of us enjoy the sensual plaisirs of an entirely deity-free existence in peace, harmony and a cloud of suspicious-smelling smoke.

So it's all good Cool Very Happy

Still...

...it keeps you sad-sacks in quality listenin material so that you can impress the guests at yer next "soiree" by pretendin you heard all this muso-obscuro stuff "a-a-a-a-ges ago" Rolling Eyes Very Happy

So no complaints and gulp it down now... ;) Very Happy

So glad I watched this through to the end - was gony make a smart comment about the blonde in the Burberry halter top, the likelihood of her havin a daughter my age (or younger Rolling Eyes Very Happy ) and the cameraman - then Steve Wright did it Shocked :face: :face: :face:

You kinda forget what ole William Hardin really looked like

He became visually synonymous with a pair of gegs and a roll-neck sweater inexpertly drawn by some hack who was picking out a living in the design offices of MCA No

Here's the real deal

The only one of the "died-young" brigade who would STILL be turning out wee beautifully tooled nuggets of pop...

...Just like this! Very Happy

Definitely the most endearing gawk in rock cheers cheers

Y'know Immo, I love that Randy Newman track you stuck on here a while back.

Problem is the guy who's acting out the lyrics. He reminds me of a guy I was at school with, who became an unwelcome squatter in a flat of mine, so much so that I had to chuck the cunt out and we haven't spoken for the last 26 years - and I bear that grudge just as fresh today.

Can't be him though. His attention span wouldn't last long enough to act out a whole song. Evil or Very Mad

Pure punk energy

(Of course the irrepressibly chirpy lead singer would hafta be shot - actually most of em could go - apart from the surly lookin Keef-a-like at 1.50-ish)

Great wee song tho

"Today I might be mad, tomorrow I'll be glad - cos I'll have Friday on my mind"
