Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Seen the Bluetones live twice, and walked out twice. Fucking rubbish.
Best band I've seen live are Strangelove, you lot would hate them though.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
I only spent 99p on this un when it came out
(Perk of workin in a record shop)
I s'pose if Mrs Greene (Senior) had raised a few more dumb kids, I mighta shelled out a few quid to go and see em and subsequently had to walk out after realising they only had about 15 minutes worth of material (or fame ) in em...
Thank fukk for small genetic mercies i say

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
FACT!
Outraged by David Bowie's shameless appropriation of his surname for The Thin White Yin's "Low" album...
...Basher responded with the "Bowi" EP
I always think of Nick Carraway and West Egg and Tom & Daisy when I lissen to this un...
...the rest of you may have your own partickler itch to scratch
Wire in Y dontcha
(He did a wee EP of Everly covers with Dave Edmunds in the late 70s BTW ;) - circle still intact )

"Downtown,
...in the pinball arcade...
with his head full of pool-hall pictures and songs from the hit parade.
He'd be singin "Bye Bye Love" while he's rackin up his free plays...
..let those rock 'n' roll choirboys... come an carry us away"

Just because...
It completes the circle
Even if he is a hunt-supportin, backslidin, dilettante, rightwing fukk who wunst looked good in a short-sleeved khaki shirt and tucked-in black tie singin' "Smoke get In Yer Eyes"
(Him singin it mind - not the tie )

Just because...
It does an old git like me no harm whatsoever to see an impossibly pneumatic young woman dress up in a cat outfit.
With a tail.
No circle...
No connection...
Pure pulchitrude ;)
In fact...
If it wasn't for the fact that ole JH has the intellect of an ice cube, the social grace of a maladjusted baboon and is thereby "undermining all the hot stuff"...
...Mike Reid would have this one banned instanter !
Runnaraaahhhhhnd NAOW!!!!

That was all a misunderstanding

Think I turned over two pages at once there

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
Oh yeah...
The Fields...
In Arabic...
I'm not really pissed enough yet, but here goes ...
(cough)
Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An Angel writing in a book of gold:
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said,
"What writest thou?" The Vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord
Answered, "The names of those who love the Lord."
"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so,"
Replied the Angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerily still; and said, "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one who loves his fellow men."
The Angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And, lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest!
Ay theng yow ;)
Poetry.
The new... ...something or other
(I haven't read the Sunday supplements yet )
And before all the purists start to and ...
This is a music thread
And a music thread aint a music thread unless it has ole Don Van V in it
(It's a new rule... ... just made it up actually )

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
The Cap'n
A big influence on Davey Henderson and the (plainly bonkers) Fire Engines :o
PS
Davey Henderson's new band is called The Sexual Objects.
Their next single "Here Come The Rubber Cops" is out in September and will afflict you like an itch you can't scratch.
Trust me
PPS
Might be a repost from the old thread

Weird and Scottish - two stereotypes for the price of one...
...and why not?
Just absolutely luvverly and sinister at the same time - how often ya gonna get that combo?

SCAAAWWWW -LIN!
SCAAAWWWW -LIN!
SCAAAWWWW -LIN!
SIX FOOT TWO
EYES OF BLOO
BIG JIM HOLTON'S AFTER YOU
COS HE BEATS AS HE SWEEPS AS HE CLEANS....
( shurely shome mishtake - Ed)
I love a circle me - did I say already? ;)
Saw this lot in The Spaghetti Factory in Gibson St on about their third or fourth gig. :o
Fell in love right off
Think the appeal mighta bin lost on ole Ivor tho
Triffic choon - although Roddy does break all three of the basic rules regarding men and make-up.
1.
If you must wear eyeliner, do it discreetly and resist the temptation to bulk out your eyebrows while you're at it.
2.
Stick to a very plain foundation and try to resist any "base coat" that makes it look like you just fell face-down into a sack of self-raising flour.
3.
Make-up is for self-regarding jessies and naricssistic cunts. Get a fukkin grip man.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
This is Scottish TV, broadcasting from the Darvel, Blackhill and Craigkelly transmitters
We have reached the end of broadcasting for the evening
We also hope you've enjoyed tonight's programming,
But remember...
...Avant-Garde is just French for Bullshit
Don't have nightmares
PS
Who remembered that the lead singer of "The Marmalade" looked like a cross between Robert Plant and Jeremy Beadle?
Be honest
