A day in Falkirk with Immo
Apparently all the cool kids post teasers, so……
A week ago last Sunday, Immo and I spent a hugely enjoyable morning in the glorious Falkirk sunshine, shooting footage, after which we repaired to chez Immo for an al-fresco lunch, prepared by his own fair hands, which was excellent.
The only downside was he and Toots aren’t looking for an idle, workshy fop of a lodger.
Anyway, there should be a video, when I’ve made a few sculpture vids and this year’s Glasgow masterpiece.

Best hold onto it for the summer, so the shots match the prevailing season*

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
The vid probably won’t be finished until summer the way we’re going, Mo and for once I can’t blame The King, he’s already sent his contributions. He’s a star that boy.
It will be worth waiting for just to see this uncensored photo of the “waif-like” immo, taken when he was a budding pop star living in south Glasgow.

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
The script is finished, Immo and the King have sent their VOs (the King wasn’t asked for a VO but he sent one anyway, he’s a gent that boy) and tomorrow I intend recording my VO.
Then it will be editing and asking Immo to shoot any extra Falkirk footage required.
At this rate the video will be finished before September, much to our resident curmudgeon’s chagrin.

It's like Waiting for Godot...
Or waiting for a legible Friday Night Quiz...
But less exciting.

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
You’re supposed to encourage your favourite.
Don’t force me to tell The king You’ve been disparaging my attempts to “Make it Big” in Falkirk.
Err, there may be a little delay, shot some footage in London today I wish to make a vid from while it’s fresh in my mind. As soon as that’s completed, it will be on to FW until it’s finished…….probably.

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
That could have been written by a bed wetting Partick resident while queuing for their organic coffee outside Roots & Fruits.
Amusing, mind.

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
This is a board for real men*
No need to spoil that by bringing in bed-wetters from Partick Thistle - the club that looks down its nose at its fellow lower division dwellers from the comfort of a fat lottery winners' legacy. Pariah club.
* men including Toots and Ono, obvs.

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
Anyone not living on Paisley Road West, irrespective of their football allegiances, has bed wetting tendencies in my eyes, Mo.
I can confirm Toots is a lady of the highest order and virtuously patient, evidenced by the fact she only twice threatened to thrash me within an inch of my life, if I didn’t stop spouting nonsense when I dined with her and Immo last year.
Anyway, the London video is published, it features The King adopting a cockney accent, (there’s no end to that boy’s talents) so next week I’ll be concentrating on Falkirk Wandering.

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
You should maybe just leave the Falkirk one as a nice free dinner with Toots and Immo and some admiring references to the tiled floor of their "villa".
The other aspects of your Falkirk wander are probably left unsaid. Just saying...

I spent two days in Falkirk, its got a wheel, some big metal horses, a cracking Indian and the cheapest taxies I've sat in since the 1980's
also shitloads of magpies, I love them. Don't get them in the north cause they're soft southern bastards

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
Finally finished.
Apart from the usual EC vid nonsense, it contains the story, and some photos, of immo’s cruelly underappreciated pop career, told in his own words.
There’s also a guest appearance from The king. What more could one ask for?

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
Very good. Good to see Immo and Toots when they could both walk unaided.
The Co-op building was good. Reminds us that in the 1930s institutions built things to last, especially compared to the inadequate shopping mall pastiches of today. One good thing from the pandemic would be the systematic blowing-up of all malls, starting with Silverburn, Braehead and the St Enoch Centre.
No offence, but Falkirk reminds me why I never want to live in any place smaller than Glasgow.

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
PS Surely a bootleg exists? A colour 12" single? A picture disk EP? Some original Red October choons could not be embedded into the track here. Or even an Immogreen re-enactment recorded in Falkirk... missed opportunity Crown?
(I realise I may be paving the way for "FW2" to be recorded in 2021 and released later in the decade)

Re: A day in Falkirk with Immo
Thanks, Mo. It turned out rather well.
When shooting and immo casually pointed out Number 30 Newmarket Street, saying his band shared it with The Cocteaus, I knew there was a story. Then he mentioned the flat and finally the gold, he had period photos. Fantastic.
His history of the Pools was concise and entertaining too, you can tell he’s a respected playwright.
You never want to live in a small place because you’d quickly upset everyone with your poor attitude. Not even you can upset every Glasgow resident, though you’re trying.
Immo possesses a tape of Red October but fears it will disintegrate if played and Sev would bake it in a pie. Never thought of asking him for a re-enactment. It’s no wonder you earn the big money.
Been discussing this year’s Glasgow trip with The King recently, (he maintains I need to purchase another visa) so hopefully immo will be free to shoot something while I’m there…….for production later in the decade.
I have to thank The King for visiting Herriet Street & Sauchiehall Street to shoot photos. Despite constant abuse, he remains the kindest man in God’s own city.

It would be good to know Immo's views of your work here, Licker. Any chance of a Royal Login?
