Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
I'm average at almost everything, I've discovered.
Could never have been a contender.
Great album, again, every track is super on Lola Versus Powerman etc...

Always get upset at this song, very few bits of the world distress me.

Finally, another from Mott the Hoople, again, not a bad track on Brain Capers.

No pics of that Glad, not sure if its this boards influence but I've developed an interest in urban decay
Might also be Snakes influence but I've also developed an interest in Caribbean rum, vodka is rats piss

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
This is shapin up to be a good page.
Top early Mott from the always reliable Gee and a classic that references the Sainted Mr V.
I'm jober as a shudge James... but not wunna thae judge ludges... naw...no huvvinat..
Anyhow... enough of this low-grade patter... I've heard better under an incontinent tramp.
Wish I had caught this gig - the sound must've been deafening.
(Grandstand and Dave Allen are the high-spots)

Seen I'm passing by, better have a tune. This came on random on my Ipod the other day. It's a classic, the Ipod and the song. Hate the Apple shite with a vengeance though, when its on random you can hear the fucking disk booting up for each track
Anyway I digress

I've no idea what inspired me to put this in my favourites folder.
But whatever/whoever it was... I'm very grateful.
Oddly affecting.

The cadences/harmonies kinda remind me of this (edited) masterpiece.
Mibbes I had a moment of drunken serendipitous clarity.
Unlikely as that seems.

Test is entirely correct.
There is no joy.
The trick is finding the odd six-and-a-half minutes in the day where you can forget this partickler truism.

Here's Dave Clark Five's cover of that song which is in the present DFS advert: white RnB at it's 1960's best! DC5 preceded the Kinks as my favourite band all those years ago.

Somewhat harsh, James. Sev, maybe, but the rest of us are ok. And, sev, I'm only teasing you, sweetheart.

Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series
I taught big Des back in 2000-and-odd when he was an engineer/pipe-fitter.
Was well impressed when he decided to break inty teachin... and even more so when I heard how good he was at it.
And then he goes and releases a killer single!!
