Been invited to this, today:

http://www.kirklees.gov.uk/festival/index.shtml

Wonder if they'll want me to give a talk on running a successful message board. Very Happy

In fact immo, if you ever want me to give your students an insight into running stennymad, just supply train tickets and beer allowance and I'll be there. Very Happy

"Huddersfield's BIGGEST winter event" ? Doh

They do mean "only", don't they?

Why the invite? They're needing a fairy for the top of the tree?

I once got lost on the one way system in Huddersfield. One of the first new builds in terms of football stadiums as well.Since then they have gone downhill resulting in the worst example of the lot, the Britannia Stadium. Shocked

i love oodersfeld, was very suprised after driving round the ringroad how scummy it was, but the pedestrianised town centre with its bars and cafes is lovely when the suns shining, the old markets quite good too,and if you go in the sumer, they have a really huge caribean carnival, plus its only half an hour from mine. :-)

Stennymad is not a platform for your homophobia young man, please behave yourself.

Somewhere (probably Yorkshire) there's a psychiatric nurse called Philip(pa) sighing with relief and thinking "there but for the grace of God..."

Are Christmas tree references "homophobic"? scratch

Phil wasn't a nurse. She did have long dark hair and a Yorkshire accent though. She could pronounce table properly, taaaaay-bull. In Love

Don't play the ingénue, it was the derogatory term "fairy", not the christmas tree reference that was homophobic. Twisted Evil Kiss

I expect only a real homophobe would find a perfectly innocent reference to a "fairy" as "homophobic".

Don't you believe in pixies, Crown?
