Fantastic performance, blew me away.
Mo did see them, and did rave about them, thought it was because he was a senile old fool though.

Re: Glasto
It says something about a few fukkers' lives when they won't pay 20 quid to see something live, and they'll believe it must have been great only once they've seen it on TV
Enjoy Steely Dan, Immo, will do you good to get off yer fat arse for some live music

No sophisticated subterfuge intended, thought everyone knew I'm "test". Don't have crownliquor details on my phone, which I was using as I nipped for a quick pint. Saw TGB, and she's not "in calf" (that's a fucking horrible saying) as my mate mardy would say, she looked fit as a butcher's dog.
You're welcome.

Forgot, re your non gig attending abuse:
Am trying to organise a gig in September, but have spent hours searching the net and nothing appeals, if anyone has any recommendations please post. Charlie and the Boys is of no interest before you start. Must be a Friday or Saturday night, and must be Jamie T.

Re: Glasto
Had to work today so didn't bother with Glasto. Also passed up a Steely Dan freebie, no doubt Immo will be rolling round the floor with his pants around his ankles playing with himself at the very thought of the ole Dan playing live.
That's if the Playhouse stewards let him, of course

Weirdly, there is almost no-one playing in September. Florence and the Machine are on at ABC on 15th September but that's a Tuesday. What about http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/170042D79778512C? ??

The Dan were... adequate
For the first four or five songs the mix was appaling and they sounded like a really, really good Steely Dan tribute band.
Funked up in the 2nd half tho...
Green Earrings was well funky and Hey Nineteen grooved like an enormous machine built specifically for the purpose of groovin
Encore was Kid Charlemagne - so that's gotta be good.
Still a bit underwhelmed tho...
I mean it was nothin I couldn'ta enjoyed just as much sittin on my fat arse watchin Glasto on BBC 4

Re: Glasto
Sorry to hear that Immo, seriously. Nothing worse than a show you're looking forward to turning out to be...well....not very good.
Had that with Joe Bonamassa a couple of months ago. Much hyped but seriously dull musician.
Don't give in to the TV temptation tho!

Re: Glasto
A few years ago I woulda hadta re-hash my "Too late " line
Hardly watch telly now unless it's;
- Live music/music related
- News
- Live football/sport
- Celebrity Masterchef
- Come Dine With Me ...
Could you get me Jeremy Kyle's phone number?
I think I maybe need to work this addiction out in front of millions of mongoloids for a flat-rate fee of fifty quid
The general rules with musicianship/gigs BTW are as follows
1 You can be the most gifted musician in the world and still be really uninspiring
2 It's gotta make you wanna
3 Several talented (somesay flashy ) musicians wouldn't know a good groove if it strode up dead gallus like and smote them in the side of the head with a croquet mallet
4 You really shouldn't write on the walls
5 Sometimes a keen (but limited) trier is better than a jaded genius
You will be charged no fee for these services
