Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series - Page 20 Empty Re: Great Lost Tracks - An Everyday Series

Post by sevvy Mon Nov 17, 2008 12:48 am

Just listening to one of my fave guitarists there, playing one of his best songs, came across the original versh, and i think it kicks ass, never heard of these guys before(dont think).
though i still think big micks version is better, the original sounds great and something that wouldnt sound out of place in a Tarantino movie.

I was just bein appreciative Sev

That Secret Affair track sounds triffic when you haven't heard it in a while

De salud! cheers

This next track may be a repost

Howevvvaah

I would defend it's re-appearance on the following grounds

1. It's a "live" recording - always better

2. I got a whole "crawlin from the wreckage, scales fallen from the eyes, exhausted, clutching a rum and wearing the rueful, reflective smile of the fucking idiot" thing going on

3. I recently acquired a delicious wee nugget of pop trivia in the form of the knowledge that this lot usedta ply their trade under the name of Dean Ford and The Gaylords

Ho yus!

Very Happy

This is...

What you get when hip kids from the sticks get bored with the angry thrash

This is...

What you get when you spend 200 quid on your video

This is...

What happens when genuine creativity is allowed to flourish within a constricted environment.

That gag with the butcher slicing 7" singles is just toooo simple, too cute... too right on the nub of the song... Very Happy

Of course... you coulda got some smart-arse, know-nothin, milk-drinkin little mouth-breather fresh out of college to CGI the fukk out of it.

Awesome dooood Rolling Eyes Laughing

"He's getting down on his knees,
he finds that the girl is not so easy to please,
oh oh, after all, his nights were just a paper striptease.
She's caught him like some disease.

When she sez...

She can't even speak to him.
He can't face her now.
He says "Even though I wanna shake your hand,
all I ever do is bow."
So now you see
how can it be...
Why can't you give me anythin' but sympathy?"

There's gonna be no dancing.

I'm hopelessly addicted to this thread

"One day a real pair of scissors will come and cut this thread clean Swearing

... yeah... clean Swearing Swearing .

Not bite it off like some lazy jakey bastard who can't be arsed rummagin' through the cabinet in the spare room and consequently getting a completely unsatisfactory soggy, frayed end that wont poke through the needle"

When free market capitalism finally reveals itself to have bin naked all along...

(we shoulda listened to that little kid... or Michael Foot as he was formerly known Smile )

...and the greedy, venal bastards who supported it right down the line...

(right up until the "credit crunch" or... "...last big fuck-off slump" - J.K. Galbraith ...started to reach a bit further up the food chain)

....are casting around lookin for some kind of lasting legacy from the last twenty-odd years of madness...

...they could do a lot worse than look to the temple of popplier music

Trashy cheers

Meaningless cheers

Addictive cheers
