Smith is completely hamstrung by (a) Rangers' parlous financial situation, and (b) His seeming inability to recognise what's wrong with his sides.

Any fan worth their salt would've told you that it was the midfield which needed strengthening more than any part of the team. (The loss of Davis coupled with the injury to Ferguson only makes it screamingly obvious ;) )

Despite this, Smith spends 5.5m on three strikers... at a club that already has 5... and regularly plays a 4-5-1 formation
