Chiles is about to experience Lynham syndrome. Which is that no man is bigger than the channel he worked for. He'll be replaced and forgotten about, and he'll find out ITV is a lot tougher than the fukkin easy life of Auntie BBC, and that a lot of people who "like" him actually liked the channel.

When Lynham left he was replaced by Lineker and the audience figures went up, contrary to common expectation. Poor ole Des thought they'd all been watching just for him...
