Cartoons - Past and Present

Post by pepe on Mon May 12, 2008 5:11 pm

Yes it's time for another one of Pepe's legendary non-football threads Very Happy

Back in the Eighties, just before the news I think, Henry's Cat used to appear on our TV screens. I think it was aimed at kids but it was a bit surreal.

Henry's Cat was written and voiced by two guys called Stan Hayward and Bob Godfrey. They made a cartoon for adults called Karma Sutra Rides Again which was all about a couple's attempts to liven up their sex lives Razz

I used to watch Top Cat on the telly when I was a kid. It was a sort of children's version of Sergeant Bilko. It's only recently though that I've listened to the lyrics of the tune at the start.

"Close friends get to call him TC
Bromide then gets whipped in his tea" confused

Genius Peps!

Sheer genius! Laughing

Even had the ole stepping-onto-the-golfclubs gag Laughing Laughing

This one has the hosepipe/trumpet and car horn double whammy

Guaranteed killer Laughing

(Cuts off just after said gag - but this is the only one I could find with the sound in-synch)
