Serious money for the Shaggster means half a crown.

That was the last time he spent his own btw.

Shaggy's rubbed his nob against the window of his local Dominos, does that count?

Love Rogano's. In Love

As financially embarrassed ragamuffins, Toots and I would often press our noses up against their window during our joyless forays into the City centre of a Sat'day afternoon.

It had a certain faded grandeur at that time (early 80s) due to it bein run-down and on the brink of colllapse.

(As I recall there used to be a really good busker who had a spot just by their front door - Roy Orbison kinda voice - actually he had a fuckin brilliant voice now that I think on it. Shocked cheers )

They usedta have this dusty ole menu in the window and every time I passed it, my eye was drawn to the 'smoked eel and scrambled eggs' starter. bounce

Mmmmmm - nom nom. In Love Smile

By the time we could afford to eat there, they didn't do that starter anymore. Sad

Twas still good tho.

It's gone a bit Euro-bistro-generic now. Neutral

Prolly all that gangster new money that's been invested in it. Shocked Smile

Oh and btw....

Shags.. good to see ye back.... blah blah blah...

Always a pleasure to see a music affeth-eeyon etc... yacketty-schmacketty...

Anyhooo... to business.

Little Ant-neh and The Imperials....

.....meh. Rolling Eyes

They got a shot in the arm through the 'Northern' interest and limped on through the 70s - ferra-nuff. Neutral

But they never... ever burnt as incadescently as the magnesium flare that was Frankie Lymon Shocked

And their one (obligatory for all doo-wop outfits apparently) really big hit (Tears On My Pillow) isn't even in the same league as the shimmering majesty of the Five Satins' 'In The S of the N' No No Evil or Very Mad

Cuh! Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Stennymad...

...at the cutting edge of contemporary cultural debate...

....since 1953. cheers Laughing

Anyway don't agree with you about Little Anthony.

If you want the greatest Doo Wop Classic of them all How about this
